This was a really cool Flying A gas station at the southeast corner of Ocean and Junipero Serra during Christmas time, in San Francisco . You can imagine this station being in the movie It’s A Wonderful Life with Jimmy Stewart. This station looks like a set of a movie. Unfortunately the city decided to tear it down years ago. You might notice the “Associated” sign as well as the Flying A. In 1936, Associated joined Tidewater Oil, makers of Tydol and Veedol, to form the Tidewater Associated Oil Company – a nationwide firm. Associated’s trademark, flying wings attached to a letter ‘A’ for Associated, became the new company’s national marketing emblem.
